Just outside of Playa d’en Bossa, and at just 10 minutes driving distance from Ibiza Town, you will discover the beach of Las Salinas, named after the salt flats of southern Ibiza. International celebrities, tourists and local inhabitants gather here to enjoy the beautiful beach, the waves and the music that emanates from the numerous beach bars. This does mean that in peak season, especially in August, you will need to arrive early if you want to be able to find a spot for your car and your sun lounger! Do remember that the presence of the jet set and the many international visitors means that prices here are a little higher than on some of the quieter spots on Ibiza.
A party every day
Although Las Salinas is beautiful, it is rarely quiet. The music, the people, and the many bars, all with their own DJs, ensure that there is a lively ambiance here that does nor subside until the small hours. Further along the beach is an area that is favoured by naturists for sunbathing, while a walk to the old pirate tower is a much-loved pastime for many visitors. Well-known hotspots here include the Jockey Club, where you can start your day with breakfast on the beach, and Sa Trinxa, with its authentic hippy vibe and music that increases in energy as the day progresses.
Beautiful in all seasons
If you prefer to avoid the hustle and bustle and the party atmosphere of the summer months, Las Salinas is also a great place to visit in the spring and autumn, when the temperature is still lovely. Even during the winter months, a walk through the surrounding nature reserve is definitely recommended. Bodysurfing is very popular here on breezy days, and the higher than normal concentration of salt in the sea at this location means that even inexperienced swimmers will find it easy to stay afloat in the sea here.
