1. Gathering point
Leading up to your vacation, set up a crate in the bedroom where you can put the necessary items in advance. Like sunscreen, puzzle books and your camera. That way you have one place where you gather all the supplies and you can immediately see what you still need to purchase before departure.
2. Packing List
Make a list of all the necessities for your vacation. It may sound a bit dull, but it works neatly and prevents forgotten items at destination.
3. Rules are rules
Before you begin your packing session, read the airline’s baggage rules carefully.
Airlines know no mercy, 20 pounds is not 21.5 pounds. It’s a shame when the vacation starts with a hefty deposit at the check-in counter, or even worse, leaving your darling sweater at the airport.

4. Essentials
The stress comes mainly from the feeling that you may be forgetting something very important. But what is really important? So start with the real essentials like passports, credit cards and phone charger. The island is equipped with all kinds of stores so in case you did forget your swimwear. No worries!
5. Small is fine
Do you have a favorite shampoo, soap or cream that you really can’t live without during your vacation, but are already almost at your maximum in terms of pounds. Purchase a number of empty mini bottles and jars where you can still carry your desired amount. Another tip: pack all liquid products in a plastic bag so you don’t arrive at destination to find that your entire suitcase has undergone a shampooing.

6. Roll it
Roll up your clothes. Rolled clothing takes up less space and wrinkles less! Also helpful: put socks inside your shoes, this way you fill in voids and your shoes stay in the right shape.
7. It’s raining sunbeams
Then you stand there with your flip-flops and shorts, it seems to be beach weather only next week. Don’t gamble on it and always check the weather forecast before deciding which favorite outfits to take with you on vacation.
8. Multifunctional beach towel
Bringing thick bath towels for the whole family? That easily takes up a whole suitcase of space. Did you know that pareos are multifuntional. Where a beach towel sucks up half the beach with grains of sand and becomes leaden, a pareo is lightweight and dry in no time. But can also be used as a scarf, blanket for a little siesta or for the ladies: as a beach dress.
9. Everything at hand
Put your most important, valuable items in your carry-on luggage. But also handy: an outfit, underwear and a toothbrush just to be on the safe side in case your suitcase starts vacation a little later due to an error at the airport. This rarely happens, but you better be prepared.

10. Space!
