In Holland, unfortunately, autumn has already made its entrance but in Ibiza the weather is still lovely. The bustle of the high season is over and most tourists have returned home. September and October are wonderful months in Ibiza. The sea is warm, plenty of fun closing parties and it’s a great temperature to get some exercise. But for me, what is an ideal Saturday spent in Ibiza? With these temperatures, it is still very pleasant to go swimming around noon. High waves can often be found at Cala Llenya. Totally perfect for bodyboarding here. Cala Llenya is a large sandy beach near San Carlos. Very popular with families because it is very spacious here and lots of places to play for the kids. After an hour in the water, it was fine. After another 15 minutes of relaxing on the towel reading a book, it is time to go to lunch.

Every now and then it’s okay to spoil yourself, and where better to do that than at Amante? It is a bit pricey here but the beautiful view and delicious octopus more than compensate. Amante is about a 15-minute drive from Cala Llenya. It is a stylish beach club where, during the high season, you would definitely do well to make a reservation. Occasionally there are also parties here that I can definitely recommend.

In afternoon when the sun is past its strongest point, sports can be played. In Spain, Padel is a very popular sport. This is kind of a mix between tennis and squash which you play 2-on-2. We play this regularly at the Santa Eularia sports complexes. After an hour of fairly intense play, it’s fair to say I’m pretty tired. Especially after swimming in the afternoon.

After a quick shower at home, it’s time to grab a bite to eat. Today’s choice was La Paloma in San Lorenzo. A cozy cozy restaurant where you can eat in the garden. The ingredients come as much as possible from its own garden and otherwise from local farmers of Ibiza and is for the most part organic. La Paloma’s lunch is somewhat Israeli-Italian-tinged; for example, they have delicious hummus, and salads. The specialty is the homemade focaccia, where you can choose from several flavors. Definitely don’t skip the juices, these are fantastic. In the evening, the cuisine is Italian. (The burrata, the burrata!!) The wine list consists of local wines, and are also not too expensive. After we have had a wonderful meal here, we will see if there is any appetite for a party.

As mentioned earlier, the closing parties are in full swing. These are usually from late September to mid-October. We get in the cab to Ibiza town and at Bob Sinclar at the Pacha the feet go off the floor for a while. In closing, a little tip: We are already looking forward to Bambuddha Grove’s Halloween party! If you are in Ibiza in October you should definitely take a look here. The entire restaurant is transformed into a Halloween destination and everyone gets dressed up. So experience it!
