Quince | San Lorenzo

La Balàfia is a fortified settlement and the only remaining Moorish village in Ibiza. The construction shows how farmers used to defend themselves against pirate attacks. Balàfia consists of five cube-shaped, white-painted houses or farms with flat roofs, thick walls and small windows. Defence towers have been built on two of the houses and a third tower is slightly further away from one of the houses. The Finca Quince is the oldest building of this settlement. The house was probably built in the 13th century, but it is also claimed that other parts of the finca date back to the 7th or 8th century.

La Balàfia is in San Lorenzo which is located between Santa Eularia and Santa Gertrudis. The view across the hills is very beautiful and peaceful. This very old finca has been completely renovated with respect for historic details and has been turned into a dream holiday home. The closest town, on the east side, is Santa Eularia. There are several trendy restaurants near the house, such as La Paloma, Bambuddha Grove and Nagai. Beaches like Benirras, Cala Xuclar but also Cala Nova are a 15-minute drive from the house.
