Raco Verd
Menu: Spanish – Mexican cuisine
You can’t miss Raco Verd when driving down San Jose’ s main street. A corner building, diagonally across from the church, with a cozy terrace under the big olive tree and an even nicer inner terrace with a beautiful trompe l’oeil mural, where live music sounds at night. Raco Verd is open from 10 am to 3 am. The kitchen closes around midnight. The dishes are inspired by Mexican cuisine, but you can also eat classic Spanish tapas. Local produce is organic, including wine and beer.
Owners are English/Scottish couple Clare and Samuel.
Why the Mexican influences?
“We met in New York at a Mexican restaurant and both love the purity and taste of Mexican food.”
Our breakfast was super fresh and healthy: the “Breakfast Bowl” of Greek yogurt with summer fruits, nuts, seeds and raisins and the “Detox Juice” with melon, lime, celery and mint. But also worthwhile for the hungry breakfaster is “Huevos a la Mexicana” (scrambled eggs with chili and homemade guacamole).
