La Tapería
Menu: Tapas
A little outside Ibiza center is the modern residential neighborhood of Can Misses. Besides a large supermarket, a bowling alley and a movie theater, you don’t really expect a restaurant worth visiting. But below the cinema is Restaurant La Tapería where it is always busy with hip, young people going to the movies or locals catching up after work over a cocktail or tapa.
Owner Alex tells us the restaurant opened on Dec. 6, 2016. We are very curious to know who designed the cool, industrial interior. Old bikes on the ceiling, crumbling walls with vintage movie posters underneath, a “hanging garden” and the menu mega-large above the door inspired by old movie announcements. Alex himself is the big brain behind the design. He used waste products and scoured flea markets for vintage movie props and used tables and chairs.
The dishes on the menu are well thought out. Spanish tapas with a twist, beautifully prepared and slightly larger portions, so you’ve really eaten enough after two tapas. We went for the chicory with roquefort (€7.50), Tuna Tataki (€10.50), “pulled” suckling pig (€13.00) and the risotto with asparagus, shrimp and mushrooms (€8.50). Everything tastes great and the service is helpful and friendly.
La Tapería is open from 17:30 to 02:30.
Next to the restaurant is a large parking lot, where you can park for free.
