San Jordi flea market

Experience a real Ibicenco flea market? Then go to the flea market of Sant Jordi, the village between Las Salinas and Ibiza town. The market is held on the grounds of the San Jordi Hipódromo (horse racing track), which you can also see well in the café: beautiful old photos of horse races and trophies. Many locals sell from their car anything salable: used books, vintage clothes, bohemian-style jewelry, and so on. You can find nicer vintage stuff in the winter than in the summer.

This market is mostly frequented by locals and is still somewhat less known to tourists. Here too, as in many other Ibizan markets, live music can be heard, for example the drummers of Benirras. The market’s restaurant is nothing special. After the market, many vendors go to a funny little tent on the road to Sant Josep. A little past Restaurant KM5, there is Can Jordi Blues Station on the left, with live music and sometimes a BBQ.

The market is held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is therefore good to combine with a half-day Las Salinas, Es Cavallet or Playa den Bossa beach visit or lunch at Nassau Beach, La Escollera, El Chiringuito, Jockey Club or the authentic Bar San Francisco along the highway towards Las Salinas, where many locals come.
